FIRST FEW YEARS ARE CRITICAL TO DEVELOPMENT
Children’s brain development is an ongoing process. But in the first few years of life, more than 1 million new neural connections form every second. Infants and toddlers are ready to absorb new information, environments, and love from their caregivers & parents. Those earliest days, weeks, and months are at the core of their future success in life. Researchers refer to the first few years as “sensitive” periods, when a child is particularly sensitive to certain types of interactions. Sensory pathways such as hearing, language, and higher cognitive function all peak by the first three years of life.
