LAURA MIJARES,
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Executive Director Laura Mijares has worked her entire career in education.  Ms. Mijares has a Bachelor’s Degree in Latin American Students and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.  She has taught and served as a building principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels.  Currently Ms. Mijares is currently certified as an Educational Administrator and through the Department of Early Childhood as a Large Center Director, and is excited to bring educational opportunities to our preschool members of Archuleta County.

MICHELLE CARPENTER,
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT NAVIGATOR

Quality Improvement Navigator Michelle Carpenter has a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Denver. She has spent the last 20+ years dedicated to Early Childhood Education. Michelle has been a toddler and preschool teacher, early care and education program director, and early childhood college facility member. Michelle has spent the last 15 years in SW Colorado and has passion for supporting rural ECE programs with professional development and coaching.
